Tips for Writing Lawmakers

  1. No more than one page
  2. No more than one issue
  3. Be specific about the bill/issue you are writing about
  4. Let them know you are a constituent
  5. Let them know if you voted for them or donated money to their campaign
  6. Don't be afraid to be assertive - their job is to represent your interests
  7. Be timely
  8. Use your credentials - if you are an expert, say it!
